Two Balloon Bodies Part II

Welcome back to the basement. This month more figures using the standard two balloon body. Let's start with the Honey Bear's Donkey Friend.

 Honey Bear's Donkey Friend

You're going to need a Blush or pink 6" Heart.

4 Spring Lilac or Periwinkle 260s (I'm using Spring Lilac). You could also use Pale Blue as well.

Start by inflating a blush 6" heart to about 85% full and then inflating a lilac 260 leaving a four inch tail. Tie these balloons together at the nozzles. Now make a 3" bubble, a 1" bubble and another 3" bubble in the Lilac and lock the 3" bubbles together. Please dont try to twist these bubbles in the heart. Pinch twist the 1" bubble.

Now make two 3" loop twists for the cheeks and a 1" ear twist to stabilize everything.

Set this aside and inflate two more 260s leaving a 1" tail. Now we're going to use a different two balloon body but it's still quick and easy. Plus this one will add more bulk to your figure. Make a one inch bubble and a 3 inch loop twist. Repeat this on the other side and twist the balloon in half. Fold the two halves over and twist in the middle so it looks like this. Repeat with the other 260.

Now roll the four bubbles around each other to form a banana cluster for the body. It should look like a headless man now.

Pick up the head and twist a two inch bubble for the neck and run the balloon through the front of the banana cluster. Make a one inch ear twist to hold the head up then twist a one inch bubble on the end of the balloon and wrap it around the back. You may have to squeeze air into it to get the 1" bubble.

Now onto the hair. Inflate a black 160 about halfway and tie it to the 1" ear twist on top of the head. Make three 1" bubbles and go around the ear twist. Repeat. Make five one inch bubbles and wrap the balloon around the cheeks. Then make two more sets of five one inch bubbles and wrap them around the pinch twist on top of the head. Here's what we have so far. Keep in mind he's a bit of a rugged character so you don't want a perfect set of hair.

Inflate the rose 260 to about four inches and split it in half. Tie a knot and cut off the tail but save it. Inflate a lilac 260 to ten inches and tie it to the middle of the rose 260. Wrap the periwinkle 260 around the rose 260 like a figure eight. This makes the ears.

Tie the ears to the top of the head. Here is the head you should have.

Time to use those scraps I told you to save. Inflate the rose to about six inches and make a figure eight out of it. Put a puff of air into the lilac 260 from the ears or use a whole balloon if this one's not long enough. Either way force the air into the tail and wrap it around the rose. Tie the knot end around the one inch bubble on the donkey's backside.

All that's left is eyes. Inflate a scrap of white 260 and tie it to the ears. Make a 3" bubble and wrap it around the heart, now back to the ears. Wedge the ears between the lilac and white balloons. Add artwork and you're done.

 Next is my "Putty" Cat

4 Black 260s, 2 White 260s and a red 5" round for the nose.

Start by inflating one of the black 260s leaving a 4" tail. Make a 3" bubble followed by a loop twist any size you like for ears and one more 3" bubble. Tie the knot to the first 3" bubble for the back of the head.

Inflate the White 260 leaving a 4" tail and tie it off. Inflate the red 5" round to about 2" and tie it ti the white 260.   Make a 3" bird body out of the white followed by a 4 bubble series like this 3", 5", 5" and a 3" and lock the 3" bubbles together. so you have this.

Bring the 5" bubbles down and twist them to the 3" bubbles and the base for his cheeks. Here's what you should have.

Twist the black 260 into the cheek section where you tied the knot. Make a 3" bubble in the white 260 and wrap it around the ears. Make another 3" bubble and lock it back at the cheeks. Make a large ear twist behind everything to help stabilize it and pop the white balloon.

Two more black 260s inflated leaving a 4" tail (I bet you're tired of reading that by now).  Make the standard two balloon body but without the ear twist for a neck. A 1" bubble loop for a hand, repeat on the other balloon. Twist together, body, twist together, long bubble for a leg, loop for a foot and a bubble at the end. Repeat for second leg.

Back to our head. A 2" bubble for the neck and lock it to the arms. Make a bubble the lenth of the body and twist it in. You can leave this as the tail but it's not really long enough. Inflate a black 260 all the way, twist it in half and let half the air out. Tie it to the legs as his tail.

Inflate a white 260 half way, make two 1" ear twists and lock them around the cat's neck. Again, a bubble the length of the body and twist it in. Pop and tie off any leftover. Tuck the arms in between the black and white 260s like so.

 Draw eyes and you're done.
