Twisted Critters

Patricia Bunnell's "Twisted Critters" is one the best hat DVDs I have ever seen. Most of the hats work off the same basic design so with a little practice you can design your own hats and make even more impressive balloons. Volume 1 has 13 fast and easy hats that would be perfect for any event. Volume 2 has 12 Hats but she shows you how doing the same hat in other colors makes the balloon an entirely different figure so it's like there are really 16 creations on Volume 2. One of the creations on the second volume is the gorilla. I think this critter alone is worth the price of both the DVDs.
Patricia spends a lot of time showing how she does the artwork on her critters and she has included with each DVD a plastic stencil and a small instruction sheet for drawing the eyes. I believe that these items alone would be worthwhile even if sold separately for a few dollars. I'm not much of an artist but using the stencil and the instruction sheet as a guide has helped my artwork a lot.
It does not matter if you are a line work pro or just beginning to discover the world of balloon art you must add these DVDs to your collection. Every twister can and will learn something from these DVDs. I work mainly Restaurants and Birthday Parties and these DVDs have added countless figures to my repertoire. There are many more hats than the 29 that she shows on the DVDs, you just have to be willing to play with your balloons and experiment a little.
Twisted Critters Volume 3
Patricia is back with even more Hats and a few new Hat Bases. She explains how she does not want to teach you everything that can be done with these bases but teach you the tools to use the bases and create your own hats.
The Race Car hat and Tow Truck Hat are worth the price of the DVD alone but my favorites are the Panda and the Koala. There is also a super quick (less than four minutes) Sponge Guy hat. In all there are 13 new hats including her Giraffe hat that was shown in her BHQ Column.
The only complaint that I have about volume 3 (which goes for the others as well) is that on a lot of the figures she will use the same balloon for the eyes that is used for the muzzle, so the eyes don't stand out as well as if she had used a separate white piece of balloon for them. That's just my preference and it gives the figures my own touch.
Volume 3 Includes
Owl, Panda, Koala, Sponge Guy, Mickey and Miss Mouse, a Llama, Camel, Giraffe, Deer, Hippo, Rhino, Race Car and a Tow Truck.
I truly hope you enjoy these DVDs as much as I did.I recommend buying all three of the DVDs in this set.
